Relationships are all about compromise, and couples should always expect that there will be times when they don't see eye to eye on the same things. Not only is it unreasonable to expect your partner to get turned on by all the same things you do, it's unrealistic! There could be a legitimate reason behind his inability to get aroused and/or suffer some Erectile Dysfunction amidst background noise, and if you haven’t yet discussed the reasons surrounding this issue, then it's high time you take this opportunity to understand where your partner is coming from. Unfortunately, knowing the background behind your husband's issue probably won't change the fact that it still happens, so if it’s music you want, then it’s intercourse you’re not going to get. In light of this observation, is getting your way really that important?
Consider for a moment how it would feel if the roles were reversed. What if your husband said that he got really turned on at the thought of, say, you two having Sex in Public ? For the sake of argument, let’s pretend you’re a really private person, the complete opposite of a thrill seeker. You’ve tried having sex with him in the public realm before, but afterwards made it obvious that it really wasn’t your cup of tea. By drawing such a boundary, you make it clear what sexual activities make you feel uncomfortable, but what if your husband continued to hound you about it anyway? You would probably feel like your needs and desires weren't being respected, which inevitably leads to emotional distance and tension.
If background noise is music to your ears but not to his, then it’s probably wise to drop the subject and move your attentions elsewhere. You can still play music to turn yourself on while you Masturbate or use it as a way to get horny for your man. If he's willing to compromise, then try to find music that won't kill his mood and ease him into it slowly. Perhaps you can experiment with volume, songs with lyrics versus instrumental only, or music in other languages. If he's a man that prefers the sounds you make over the noise of a stereo, why not put yourself on center stage and dial down the volume on the machine. If he still doesn't bite, then there's always the option of headphones for you and ear plugs for him. :)
