OP: Psoriasis and Self Consciousness

Okay, so I know at first glance, this will probably come off as another guy wanting to get some. But before you judge, just read it through.

So my girlfriend has been horny lately....well horny is an understatement. I dont blame her though cuz its been a while. Everything would be great, we would be getting each other wild up, I would be naked, and then I would go to undress her and as soon as Id unbutton her pants she would stop me, grab her pants and be like...lets do this another time.

I was disappointed of course, but I figured just bad time. Well same thing happened again the next day. Again I was disappointed but figure that I was going about it wrong. So the next day tried the shirt first. And same thing stopped, shirt pulled back down and that was it. Finally, I was really confused so I asked her, and she told me she had psoriasis, and it was starting to flare up. (I guess she has it on her elbows and her waist (where her pants fasten) And she is really really self conscious.

My question is, is there anything that I could do to help her be comfortable around me. I mean yes sex is a plus but I feel bad that she feels like she must hide it from me. (When I come over she pulls on a sweatshirt and stuff) I really dont mind it. I mean I think it makes her look like a normal human (unlike fake women i see everyday)

Also any tips on helping it. She does have meds, but it has already flared up so it will take a while to clear it up (or so she says)

Just let her know you feel she is beautiful regardless & her stressing over it makes it worse for her.

One alternative I know some try is bath salts made from the Dead Sea. And the product line of Dead Sea body cream & soaps. But not just any--look at "Ahava"--unscented.

When my boy was 11 he had bad Psoriasis .. on his head face neck arms and chest. every specialist was seen all the lotions and potions where applied .. bloody expensive stuff but not one of them
cleared it very well...

So we took him to the beach everyday and he would swim in the sea..
we also used natural soap and he bathed in baby oil. the mixture of all that and plenty of sun cleared it well over summer.

I get it around my neck .. but only when I am stressed. only use baby oil
on it. I am lucky it clears well after a short time of non stress and healthy eating

I have just worked w/many who have the same. Found meds are not always a good alternative since they tend to fail on the majority.

Did some research on the benefits of the products (Dead Sea) since I have RA and noticed a substantial difference in pain decreasing through soaking (also good for tired muscles after a good work out or to relieve stress, the Lavender one)--went into a remission & off all meds. Then searched to see what else it was therapeutic for; many have tried it with great success. I guess that's why they say go to the Kabutz (sp?) in Israel?

Main part is to decrease stress...as soon as I am stressed notice RA acts up since it has to do w/being an autoimmune disorder. Managed about 15 years with no real deformity of bones!!! Yeah!

Yea its seems like most meds dont do much. I mean aside from ibuprofen to help with sprained joints, things never seemed to help other than plenty of water and rest, and working out lol.

I don't know the extent of how bad it is....but I know in some very extreme cases there are injectable medications.
I work at a specialty pharmacy and I know that some meds like Humira that were first used for RA are also used for psoriasis.

As far as your g/f goes.... maybe turn off all the lights? lol sounds easy enough but could help. I get embarrassed when I haven't shaved and my legs are hairy... I tell my b/f but at that point... he could care less... he's used to it! lol He just wants to be w/ me.
