OP: TTC but losing hope

My boyfriend is 32 and I am 27. He has never had kids and I have three. Yeah three and I want more, but I am not going to be selfish. Right now we are finacially stable enough to have one more child. Here is the problem... he thinks he is infertile. I am very fertile, we have been TTC for 6 months now and even had unprotected sex on my most fertile days when I know I am ovulating. He said he went to the doctors and his sperm was barely moving and some weren't moving at all. I have researched about IVF because I would like to give him his first child. But considering his situation don't know if IVF will even work.

This is what happened to him.. when he was 16 he had a fever of 106 and managed to break out of that. When he was 18 he got his first love pregnant but she wasn't ready and neither was he and they decided to get an abortion. (I know sad, but everyone does what they think is best and it isn't my place to judge.) Well then after they broke up and he was about 23 or 24 he had another high fever where they had him on an ice bath. Now I thank God everyday that he is even still alive. But lately he has been talking more and more about having kids and he looks really sad when he talks about it.

Anyways, my question is with the fevers that he had can he reproduce more sperm, healthy sperm, or no? Also with doing things to increase his fertility do I have any chance of giving him a child?

I am okay with not having anymore kids and he has come to the realization that he won't be able to have kids. It still gets him down.. I am praying.

Anything will help...

Low sperm count and motility came from somewhere and the fevers, especially as an adult, could be the cause. If you (he) really wants to have kids, get to a fertility clinic. It is amazing what can happen with very even very low sperm counts.

Keep in mind that even when we are unprotected on our most fertile days, there is a one-in-four chance of a term pregnancy. It can take a while even with the help of a fertility specialist.
