OP: Penis has funny smell?

Right guys, since about a month ago i have noticed a very unpleasant smell every time i go to the toilet. It's most noticeable when i pull my foreskin back when i am urinating. At first i thought it was the smell of my urine, but i don't think it is as i drink plenty of water, and i noticed the smell when i was getting fruity with my girlfriend (luckily she was too drunk to notice the smell) also my urine looks completely normal.
So i am convinced the smell is coming from my 'helmet' and i don't know how to get rid of it. I always retract my foreskin in the bath and in the shower and let it soak for a couple of seconds at a time (Its too sensitive to rub).
I have looked for advice on the internet, but all i find is suggestions of rubbing vegetable oil on it, or dipping it into mouth wash etc, but that doesn't seem right. I have tried pulling my foreskin all the way back when urinating but it ends up going all over the place.

I don't think its STI related as i had a chlamydia test a few months ago which came back all fine. Plus i have been fully faithful to my girlfriend since we started going out over 2 years ago, and she has never had any STI's.

Any help would be appreciated.

A foul smell is a tipoff that you do have a bacterial infection. Uncircumcised men have a bit more difficulty with this than do those who have been circumcised. The bacteria have reached a critical mass in your smegma and there is likely some infection of the urethra. Hence, you replenish the stock each time you urinate. Not likely to be an STI and you seem to be doing all you should for hygiene. Time to see the doctor for antibiotics. He may prescribe oral or topical or some combination. Not serious; get it fixed.

I am going to the Doctors tomorrow.
Just another quick question, can bacterial infections of the urethra last a while, because for a long time now, maybe about 7 months i have had problems with my waterworks, particularly at night when im winding down for the night. I will do my teeth, go to the toilet etc before getting into bed, when i am then in bed i feel like i need to go the toilet again and when i do go its just a little trickle of urine, and this can happen again and again. I sometimes have bad nights having to go 4 times in the space of an hour and its always just a trickle, mostly though its just 1 or 2 times, but thats not normal at all. If i leave it i can't get to sleep.

Sounds like a classic male urinary tract infection. They rise and fall (no, not that way) but do not cure themselves. This can last a long time and sometimes they move upstream and become a prostate infection of bladder infection and then, getting serious. Should be a seven to ten day course of anti-biotics and you will be able to pee again and be done with it. Whilst on the drug regimen, condoms are a good idea or you can reinfect your self. Your partner may show no symptoms but still have the bacteria in her to reinfect you.
