I for one would like to delve into this question a bit more, and to do so, I have some questions.

* Do you know if the foreskin has (completely) detached from the Glans. You can probably determine this if there is enough "wiggle room" under the foreskin to move it back and forth slightly over the glans.
* "What shape is your foreskin in"? What I mean by this is what does it look like? Does it have a straw-like extension out in front, or, is the opening just not large enough to go over the glans?

If you have an extension out in front, then you can have it widened. Brandye, our resident M.D., recommends talking to your doctor about having it nicked with a scalpel. This is a minor procedure over in a few seconds--not a circumcision!

Depending upon the style of foreskin you have, and, if it has not fully detached, you might be able to free it over time by working with it; however, if as you say, you have not seen your glans, then you probably cannot get a finger inside to do this.

If it has detached as should be the case most often in boys your age, then you might try stretching the opening in order to enlarge it. This will take several weeks or months depending and is probably only worthwhile if you do not have the narrow frontal extension.

Let Brandye provide additional information, although, I would plan on visiting your doctor and discussing what to do, one being that little cut that will widen the opening.

Sam,

You do have alternatives - and should explore the possibilities. With the situation you describe, you cannot properlu clean the nooks and crannies and this will lead to problems for you and partners in the future.

There is no quick and easy solution to be recommended for a situation as you describe it. Starts with a urologist and find out all the possibilities. You may wish to follow through with him or a cosmetic surgeon. Either way, the doctors you deal with should have encountered these situations before and be able to either deal with it or get you to the right doctor.

There are other threads on this topic and most of the responses are unhelpful for anyone let alone the rather complete phimosis you describe. See a doctor.

OOOps. I just noticed Doc has already posted. Please, see a doctor. Your situation is not amenable to home remedy.

i can move it around over the head completely its just that the hole in my foreskin isnt big enought by far to go over the head its probaby as its only about 5mm around, but it goes completely into the shape of the head and there isnt a bump on the head or anything. This may seem strainge but if your a real doc could i pm you a pic and you tell me whether i have it or not as i'm getting very worried but dont want to go to my doc for them to tell me i'm fine even though i'm 99% sure i'm not.

Sam, i have this problem now and im 19, however i can pull back my foreskin when i am flacid its just when i have an erection it will not pull back. What i did was everytime i had a bath i just kept stretching it and then one day it would go all the way over.

yeh i might try masturbating then jumping straight into the bath because when i orgasm the hole in my forskin like doubles to trebles so this may help. Its nothing serious at the minute as i have no infection etc so i'm gona try this and if it doesnt get any better i'll go to the doctors.

I am real and I do not need a picture. Your situation is sufficiently common that we have all encountered this with patients. Some more so, and some less. Never having seen your glans penis at age 17 is more so. It calls for medical advice sitting with the doctor.

Consider that the skin in there has never been cleaned. In seventeen years there has been an accumulation or urine, semen, dead skin cells, lubrication that the foreskin produces, sweat and migrating bacteria from elsewhere in your lower parts. For seventeen years the various bacteria have maintained a balance and you have had no problems. When you become sexually active you can add all mentioned to vaginal lubrication, menstrual juices and her bodily fluids.

It is not normal for the head not to become exposed and this needs to be treated. This condition increases the chances for various infections including all the STDs and carrying the HPV that causes cervical cancer in your partners.

If it has not corrected itself in seventeen years, it is not going. It does need to be corrected.
