OP: missed two pills

Ok i just realized that i missed 2 pills in a row. i am on the third week, so i am supposed to get my period next week. I read the package insert, which said to continue taking them regularly until Sunday, then throw out the pack and start a new one. I know i cant have unprotected sex for a week, and i wont be anyways. But i did have sex a few days ago. Does this mean i can get pregnant? Also, am i going to get a period? And how am i supposed to know if i may be pregnant? Please help- im really scared.

Not good practice with any medication but you understand that. The chances of your being pregnant are low. With the delay of a few days after sex before missing the first pill, most of the sperm are dead. Do not have unprotected sex before you start on the next cycle of pills after your period. And do develop a reminder system.

If no period appears, contact the prescriber - your doctor. You should not begin the next cycle of pills if you are possibly pregnant. That would still not be too late for some "morning after" system. Do not delay awaiting home pregnancy tests or anything. If your period is not right on time, see the doctor and confess your carelessness. The longer you wait, the less your choice.

If you period appears, you made it!

Well Brandye im still confused about something. I'm supposed to start taking the placebos on Sunday- which means that I would normally start my period next week. But the package insert said to skip the placebos and start a new pack of active pills. So does this mean I wont get a period? Or that it will be abnormal? And when pills are missed, is it normal to have severe stomach pains?
I no longer have access to the doctor who prescribed these pills to me. But i was thinking about calling my pharmacist. Also, there is a local Planned Parenthood I could call to speak to someone. Should I do this?
Thanks.

yes i would
your pharamacist is always there to help you out w/ questions about any type of medication.
PP would also be a good choice.
why not call both and see what answers you get. see if they are the same.

also, i think that ok its already saturday... so would you start taking your placebos tomorrow?
i would wait on taking the new pack just so you could see if your period came. like brandye said, the sex was before the missed pills.
im a sunday starter so when its time to take my placebos i usually don't have my period till wed or thur.
if i were you i would just wait and see if it comes. if it hasn't by friday definetly get a test. or get a test for now and later.

recently my friend was on her period and was going to start a new pack on sunday. she realized sat night that she would completely out and for some reason could get them filled sunday/monday... ??
anyways, she's like, oh well i guess ill just skip a month and start back up after my next period. well when she was 2 weeks late she started freaking out. took a test, it was negative. waited another week, took a test it was negative.
the next day she started her period and said it was the worse thing she had ever experienced. she was in walmart w/ sweat and chills at the same time. her vision was all whacky. she had to sit down and have someone come get her. it was scary.
shes ok now. i think she learned not to missed any pills...lol.

Ok well I just called both. The pharmacist didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about, but he said to just follow what the package said and use a second form of protection.
Then I called PP and they are not open on weekends.
i guess my next two options would be to try and contact the doctor that prescribed them to me, or call my sister. I got the pills from the campus gyno, and school is not in regular session, so she probably wont be there. And my sister is working, then going to a friend's house- whose number I do not have.
I would think that since I wontbe having sex anytime soon (he hasnt even been home all week and wont be next week- plus im losing my attraction to him anyways), that I should take them regularly in hopes of trying to get a period.
I only didnt take on pill- Last night's I took 4 hours late.
More feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i think last night when you realized it and you were only 4 hours late you were supposed to take 2 then you would've been back on schedule.
i get my pills from the health clinic at my school too and my DR is there over the summer. i went just recently.i think they are there all the time. even if your DR isn't there, there should be another DR or nurse that can answer your question.

I tried calling the school, but they dont have any office hours on the weekends.
Do you think that I could take the pill I missed now, then take tonight's pill at the normal time, and then be back on track?
I didnt take two last night because I remember being told never to take two at once.

hmm i dunno.
i know its ok to take 2 in the same day.
my pill pack says that if you miss one pill to take it as soon as you remember and then take the next one on your regular time even if it means taking 2 in the same day.
so for me i take mine at night so if i forgot and didn't take it till the next morning then id take my next one that same night.
i don't know what else to tell you.
sorry im not much help..lol. i know its frustrating.
plus it sucks b/c now you'll be out of whack.

on the pill pack insert did you see any kind of 24 hour help number or anything like that?

Well, you did not say that you were on a system with placebos. In the absence of your prescribing physician, do exactly what the insert says. Exactly. And then use another form of birth control for a month.

The low dose, modern pills are great but very sensitive because the dosage is right on the line.

Just as I did not recognize what system you were on, some others here are responding with what their prescription calls for. These things are different - use the directions for yours.
