OP: His foreskin ripped during sex!

My boyfriend and i were having sex the other night and his foreskin actually snapped and he lost a lot of blood, it was a very scary experience for us both and we were worried about it obviosuly so went to see a doctor who simply turned him away and said that 'these things happen' and it should heal within a week.

I know he's a doctor and knows what he's talking about but it seemed very abrupt, and my boyfriend tells me that it's quite painful today. Is it possible for this to happen and then to just leave it or does he need extra surgery? He is able to have an ercetion still but will this make sex uncomfortable for him in the future, and how can he keep the area as clean as possible?

thankyou

Well, your doctor is correct in the medical sense but in the clinical sense, he should have done a bit more education and reassurance. I would recommend that your b/f see a urologist for his own peace of mind.

It will heal. It will not be shaped quite the same - nothing serious, but wounds allowed to heal on their own can do unpredictable things. It is possible that, without some care, it will heal even tighter and this could happen again. There is also, in the short term, a greater chance of infection. Hopefully, he is using some anti-bacterial cream.

thankyou for your help, are there any particular things he should check for until he is able to see the urologist?

Bleeding; red marks indicating infection, pain.
