Chlamydia antibiotics
I thought someone with medical knowledge might be able to help me here. If not, I'll go back to the doctor, I just didn't want to for this one thing but I will if I have to. I missed her call when she phoned me with results so I didn't get to ask her then.
Anyway, I was prescribed antibiotics to treat chlamydia and told to take them while I waited for the results of my test, as it was highly likely that I did have it. Doctor told me that they could sometimes cause vomiting, and in that case to contact her because obviously they wouldn't work. Took the tablets at about 4:30 pm, taking a guess. I felt fine, had dinner but by around 7:30 had severe diarrhea and other symptoms. Upon researching found that this is another relatively "common" side effect.
My main concern is whether or not the tablets would have had time to have been absorbed in this time or would they have just passed out of my body? Does anyone have any idea? Confirmed I had it; I have to go back to doctor six weeks but I don't want to have to avoid sex for six weeks in fear of passing it on accidentally (yes, condoms, but now kind of paranoid). I don't really fancy taking these antibiotics again but I want it to have cleared up :/
They were Azithromycin Sandoz 500mg, if this helps.

That is a very common antibiotic for chlamydia but there are alternatives. The time spent in your system should have been sufficient for a therapeutic dose. Do ring your doctor's office and speak to the nurse or doctor, describe your issue and get some advice. Possibilities would be a change of drug or use some other technique to alleviate the nausea.
Keep on taking it until it is all gone unless the doctor recommends otherwise. Good for you in recognizing the responsibility to avoid sex for a while.

I only had to take one dose of two tablets, so it was a pretty short-lived problem. I was just concerned about this. Doctor said I would be fine after about seven days (with the chlamydia cleared up).
