I don't trust Durex condoms for anything.

What kind of trojan did you use? I use the trojan-enz with spermicide. They are shaped diffrent than a normal condom and seem to fit better on my member which is on the slim side. go to trojancondoms.com you can get a free sample and try a magnum condom. I would recommand trying it while masturbating, that way you would know how it is going to work without the chance of making your companion pregnant.

Let us strip out the editorial comment and get to the facts. The spermicidal lubrication on condoms is better than nothing but not a whole lot. If they are going to put lube on, it might as well be spermicidal. It is still a good idea to use spermicide in the vagina when using condoms.

With her on the pill, you are probably protected and, if on the pill, Plan B is not a good idea without seeing a doctor. The hormones plus an overdose of hormones (Plan B) will have her system confused and you are better off stopping everyhting and starting over.

You describe one "break" as the condom rolling off. This is not a break; it is not having the condom completely rolled. I always "assist" the man into me. This gives me a last chance to check that the condom is completely on. If you want to relate size, this happens more often when the condom is too large. The storage out of temperature range is a concern and could cause the failure. Surely, there is somewhere, even in Canada, you can store them at a normal temperature.

You are using good quality brand name condoms. These are very strong and dependable. Repeated use of Plan B will not likely cause long term effects. I cannot imagine a woman who wants to repeat the experience that often.

The tone of your post changes from male to female so I do not know whether I am responding to a man or a woman. That does make a difference and the change takes place part way through the second paragraph. Makes me wonder if we are being jacked around.

The part of not enjoying sex is most telling, I think. If you do not enjoy sex and are going through this frequently (and it has been frequent), why not stop? I found after I started (much too young) that the enjoyment (nil) was not worth sweating out my period each month. So, I stopped. It was during that time that I discovered women can do almost as much for one another, and much better, as a man can. Sounds like you just do not want sex. Nothing wrong with taking a break.

Well the post is all male perspective, maybe my flip flopping threw you off. They were both breaks but the Trojan was more like a shattering or exploding. The durex was like a complete rippture. Trojans were stored in my car overnite. They may have froze and unfroze, thats why i pointed out the shattering thing. But it hasnt been a full month since she started the pill, 2.5-3weeks. Still the same response? I mean I may ahve ejaculated on her vagina lips but not inside her. Whats the best thing to do? Get a pregnancy test before when? Its ironic cuz i'm wearing a teen pregnancy support braclet right now, and i'm so worried about us. She hasn't taken the PLAN B (yet??), though she didn't have the usual symptoms of the plan B, if thats wat you meant by "women dont wanna experience that twice"? But if u meant, like the psycological stuff associated with it, I understand that too. Cuz deep down, i dont really like the idea of them in the first place. If swapped shoes, i'd imaging i might feel like ****.

Same answer. Most modern pills become effective after a week according tot heir brochures. I still tell my patients to wait a month. That is very conservative.

No, any time you are having sex, there is a possibility. We are only talking probabilities.

If the condom broke once, you might have had a bad condom. But you say that the condom has broken at least twice, and that sets off alarm bells. I'm sure there are other threads around here that talk about condom use, but the common reasons for recurring condom breakage, especially with young people, are:

1. He's pulling it on too tight, and not leaving room at the tip. Leave room.
2. The couple is using an oil-based lubricant, which slowly disintegrates a latex condom until it can easily break. Use water-based lube only.
3. The partner being penetrated is too dry and the friction is too much for the latex. Use more lube.
4. He's using more than one condom at a time. Big no-no because the friction of the two condoms can wear out the latex of one or both.

Suggestions:

1. Don't stop using male condoms even if she starts using another form of contraceptive. HIV and most STIs are preventable with consistent and proper condom use. Contraceptives will only take care of the unwanted pregnancy risk, and won't prevent HIV (herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, hepatitis B, HPV, etc.)

2. Try larger size condoms, and keep them away from heat until you are ready to use it.

3. Keep a packet or two of water-based lube nearby in case s/he gets dry.

Finally, the chances of an unwanted pregnancy is pretty unpredictable statistically. It depends on how close it is to the time she ovulates and also the quantity of semen ejaculated inside her or very near the vaginal opening.

Even though you wear condoms, it's a good idea for extra safety to pull out just before you ejaculate. You will have to withdraw immediately afterwards anyway, so why not improve your odds dramatically by pulling out before? I guess it depends on how much you want to prevent a pregnancy.

Same is true with condoms worn for HIV prevention. The female condom is the only condom that doesn't require the guy to pull out immediately after ejaculation.
