OP: Chubby Crotch

I'm quite a chubby guy, not fat or obese by any standards but I have a belly. I'm 18 on monday (Woo) so i obviously haven't finished growing either.

I've started exercising more regularly and eating more healthily. I've never ate a lot, not anymore than any other person, but the weight has always been there but it fluctuates.

But over the years since I've got a girlfriend and become sexually active, I've grown more and more self conscious and worried about the flab around my penis. I think it hides the full length of my member but I could just be saying that to make myself feel better, I'm 5" now which isn't terrible and I have no real insecurities about it but I think the chub is generally unattractive. It also stops me trying some techniques during intercourse simply because of gravity pulling the flab forward and effectively shrinking my penis, not by a massive degree but I'm not a horse so every bit counts and therefore I don't risk these positions, damn insecurities.

My girlfriend is fine with it; in fact she loves my beef as it were because I'm cuddly and all that but with no disrepect intended, she doesn't know any better because we are both eachother's first partners.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about exercising or a routine that would remove fat from this area; or an exercise which indirectly has the same result like an upper thigh exercise or something.

Replies:

Reduction of belly fat which surrounds this area is proper diet and exercise. A good abd. routine which works upper, lower, and obliques. Legs? Squats and lunges.

Cardio. work outs also reduce fat associated with proper food intake. Other then that...everyone has some body fat--generally in spots we don't want!

I'll defer to our medical folks here, but I'm pretty sure a certain degree of fat in that area (pubis?) is normal. I think if you're chunky or fat (I am) it's more pronounced and as you lose weight you lose some from there as well. But I'm not aware of any specific exercises that targets the crotch. If there is I'm sure someone here will know.

edit: Sera beat me to the draw. Quickest post in the West! :D

Every one has some! Tighten the abdominal muscles and watch the diet...:) Remember your love for the gym DVD!!! LOL!!!! Women get it right around the lower belly, butt, or thighs...:)

Wow!!! An opening to my favorite rant! And last week it was reported that there is a direct link between stomach fat and dementia later in life. Another good reason to control those pounds/kilos/stone or whatever you measure with.

Sera gives good advice. I only want to add abit. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. Period. No other possibility. This requires aerobic exercise raising the heart rate to a certain magical figure. Subtract your age from 220 and multiply by .6. For you that is 220-18= 202. 202x.6= 132. This is the minimum heart beat rate that that indicates you are burning fat. You should do this thirty minutes a day, five days a week. To get a real workout, multiply by .85 which gives you a real cardio workout. But work up to this if you are not exercising regularly.

Weight is the biggest health crisis in the developed world today. I applaud your interest in getting it under control.

Ultimo:

Sera and Brandye give some of the best advice, but there are two points that I have to add.

Firstly: Dont be discouraged if you do not see IMMEDIATE results. Generally, the first place to gain weight is the last place to lose (tummy). It will disappear though if you eat and excerise properly.

Second: One thing that I have tried, after talking to a family friend. Water. Many people tend to drink less than what they need. The replace the 8 glasses a day with sodas, juices, or coffee etc. Drink 8 glasses a day...AT LEAST. And it will help you lose a little more weight (It will help flush out your body, First you lose the water your body stores and eventually you will start to lose fat) To get ready for basketball season one year, I started running everyday (only a mile) and drinking a gallon throughout the day. (not all at once but about 1 or two glasses an hour...more if I am thirsty. I lost a pretty fair amount of weight, so by the time basketball season, I was nice and cut (I did the preperation so I wouldnt feel awkward playing shirts v skins in practice )

*A bit of a warning though. You must be very careful when drinking a lot of water because you can develop electrolyte poisoning, which can be dangerous to your health. That is why I would spread out the gallon of water out throughout the day. This does not replace the need to eat healthy either. You still need to eat fruits, veggies, etc. Cut down on fats and sugars, and exercise.

"Love" is waaaay too strong a word, Sera! I LOVE sex, the gym . . . . not so much. lol Why didn't who or whatever designed us build in a great pay-off like an orgasm when you work out? It would be a great motivator!! I just got back from trying to do my morning routine . . . . I'm having this problem with my calves and ankles burning like hell after ten or fifteen minutes on the treadmill. I've had the circulation test, do stretching exercises and warm up, bought expensive running shoes. Nothing seems to help, and it's seriously curtailing my ability to go distance. I'm also waiting to get in to my gastro guy too, since I just found out I've got gall stones and they're kicking up pretty good. So sometimes it's extra hard to get the exercise in you need. I'm just taking it slow and steady.

You're right about the water, Ducy, and also right about the cautions to take. Exercise, water and calorie reduction are the three biggies in losing (at least I've found that to be the case in the past).

Okay seeing you men all at the gym having an orgasm, regardless for orientation or timing, WOULD make me be at the gym--exercise turned erotica for me! Might have some difficulty controlling my hormones though!

Wouldn't all these orgasms in gyms be really dangerous when you've got a bar above your throat and face, forget your knees getting weak, what about arms!?

One problem I have with exercising is that if I decide to make a routine, for example working out every other day, I will not stick to it for one reason or another.

And another problem is how much minimum should I be doing and how long for. Okay for example, over the recent months I don't find much time, I come home from school, do homework or pretend to or someone comes over like my girlfriend, and she leaves pretty late, 9, 10, 11pm and I go to bed to be up for 7am. What i've been doing when I catch an hour is usually start up with a Wii sports workout, really bad I know but atleast its fun and I'm really active when I'm doing it like I bounce around if I'm boxing or whatever. I do that for ten minutes atleast and then move on to working with my bar bell until my arms burn. Then I jog on the spot for half an hour non-stop and dip down to touch the floor every couple of minutes. Then I workout with the dungbells for a while and then warm down with situps and push ups.

Probably the most useless thing you guys have ever heard but I hope to change it.
Going to start walking to school, takes half an hour. I used to walk anyway but I got lazy, woke up late and was forced to take the bus unless I wanted a bollocking.

For beginners or even those looking to maintain a healthy non-uber buff life, all you need is a set of dumbbells and your choice of aerobic exercise - walking, bike riding, etc. In the early days all I had was a 30 lbs weight, 120 lbs barbell and my own home made stuff in the back...think Rocky IV.

Walmart has a decent set of adjustable handles that sell for about $15-20. You can have one handle with 40 or 2 with 20. I'm constantly updating my workout programs on my PC so if anyone needs a list of exercises and even set/reps...I have plenty.

Guys or girls too. Different regiments can be designed for toning or bulking.

Hey your moving at least....

Try this...

Wake up...roll right out of bed. Do 10 push up and 25 sit ups. Take your shower (if you shower before school), go to school, come home, do the same. then about an hour before (so you can relax) do 10 push ups and 25 sit ups then relax (shower, read, something relaxing...no computer unless you have at least 45 minutes till you must sleep since the bright lights prevent a good nights sleep)

After a week, double everything. Then two more weeks, and move to 50 and 100. This is very very simple, will build muscle (which helps buurn calories) Once you can get this routine set, try adding 8 count body builders. basically squat down (feet and hands touch the ground), then kick feet behind (land in push up position) do 1 push up, kick your feet apart (shoulder width while still in push up postion) bring them together, jump back to squating position and stand back up. Each step should be a simple count. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) This is amazing cardio. and doesnt require much.
