Polyurethane condoms

My b/f accidently picked up a box of polyurethane Trojan condoms instead of latex condoms and i was just wondering if you could still use these types of condoms even if you dont have an allergy to latex. It doesnt really say on the box how effective they are, it only says they are strong enough to stop organisms such as sperm to pass through it and it says more studies are being done. Does anyone else know how effective they really are?We already used one and he said it felt like a normal condom during sex but it was harder to roll down when he was putting it on. I just want to be extra safe even though i'm on birth control pills. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

There are several advantages to using poly condoms and I always recommend them. They avoid the problems of latex allergy. At a microscopic level they are less abrasive than latex. When you pull a sexual marathon, you are less likely to get sore. The data on effectiveness is identical to latex. They are not affected by any lubricant; even vaseline can be used with poly but not with latex.
